Publish Date:
16 September 2019
Abstract:
This special supplement to the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics advances the connections between health equity and the quality measurement of malnutrition, nutrition, and food insecurity risk and their impact on health disparities and health outcomes. The Supplement features results of the Malnutrition Quality Improvement Initiative (MQii), including the underlying research supporting the Global Malnutrition Composite Score measure. The Global Malnutrition Composite Score measure has been approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a quality measure that can be voluntarily reported in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program beginning in 2024.
